Did You Know? Fun Facts About NVFS' 100-year Journey

NVFS first started helping children and community members with dental care in the 1930s, during the Great Depression. We continue that tradition today helping instill the importance of oral hygience in our Early Head Start <[link removed]> (EHS) and Head Start <[link removed]> (HS) classrooms. Every day, each child brushes their teeth with their own toothbrush, which is suction cupped to the wall along with toothbrushes of the rest of their classmates, ready to be used. This simple start to oral hygiene and dental care is a foundation that will help these kids throughout their lives helping them avoid dental issues, but also allow for proper eating, speaking, and a reduction in a variety of diseases.
