I’m pleased to announce that ISI’s 2025 Conservative Book of the Year Award will go to Sean McMeekin for his landmark work, To Overthrow the World: The Rise and Fall and Rise of Communism (Basic Books).
Sean McMeekin's incisive examination into how Communism twisted the ideal of a classless society into a doctrine underpinning tyrannical regimes stood out in a field of first-rate finalists, including books by Aaron Renn, Catherine Pakaluk, and Auron Macintyre.
Sean McMeekin currently serves as the Francis Flournoy Professor of European History and Culture at Bard College.
