Dear SPUC supporter
“We won’t change your mind. But we’ll get your children.”
I have never forgotten hearing those words.
They were spoken by a gloating radical activist promoting disturbing ideas in our schools.
I realised then that they were coming for our children – and that they would stop at nothing.
Since the 1960s, our enemies have been using the mass media and the education system to indoctrinate our children in values very different to those we teach at home.
And children who don’t have parents who teach them true values are in even more danger.
But SPUC is fighting back.
And a new pro-life generation is rising.
Hundreds of young people now attend our Youth Conference every year.
Our conference provides four extraordinary benefits to young people:
1. True pro-life education, protecting them from destructive ideologies, and sending them forth as apostles of truth
2. An unrivalled opportunity to form crucial friendships and social bonds with peers who share their values
3. A space where they can be themselves – perhaps for the first time in their lives – free from the pressure to conform to the false ideologies and moral evils that dominate the world today
4. Formation in effective social and political action, unleashing their energy and idealism to engage in the pressing battles of the present.
These are fruits that grow from the seeds sown by SPUC’s donors.
I am deeply grateful to you for all the sacrifices you make each year to ensure that this conference can go ahead.
But I must ask you to support this project again.
We still have £20,000 to raise to cover all our youth conference costs, as well as £80,000 to ensure our Assisted Dying Campaign is fully funded.

Money raised for the conference will contribute to:
1. Providing a safe and secure venue, suited to learning and pro-life fellowship
2. Bringing the best pro-life educators together to share their knowledge and wisdom with our youth
3. Subsidising tickets to ensure that cost does not prevent young people from seizing this opportunity
4. Covering the cost completely for those in serious financial need.
SPUC makes sure that every young person, regardless of their background, can share in this life-changing experience.
We believe that nothing is more important than giving young men and women the opportunity to know and live the truth.
YOUR donation helps ensure that no-one seeking the truth will ever be turned away.

Every year, when the conference is over, I read with great joy the testimonies of those who have taken part.
Last year young people told me about the transformative effect the conference had on their lives: changing minds, strengthening resolve, bringing forth new apostolates, and building new friendships.
Their words make all the effort worth it.
I would like to share some of these testimonies with you. (I have changed their names to protect their privacy in a hostile world.)
I hope these words make YOU feel very proud of what you have achieved by supporting SPUC.
Together we are changing lives.
“It’s great to be with so many young pro-lifers and realise your opinion matters. You can just talk about things, and everyone respects you.” - Sarah
“I want it to get bigger and bigger. Bring a friend. I think that every year the talks are inspirational. You think you can get bored of a topic but you can’t. There’s always another angle to look at and reach out to the public and educate. I hope that people here today follow the call to courage.” -
Mark
“It’s a great place to meet new people and make friends with like-minded people and learn a lot about pro-life apologetics.” -
Rebecca
“It’s really good to see how many young people are here. It makes me really hopeful for the future.” - David
Your gifts made this life-changing event possible.
And in 2025 we are doing it all again.
We will be investing in the education of our youth for as long as it takes to bring about a culture of life in this country.
But we can only keep this project thriving and growing if we continue to have your financial support.
Please give whatever you can afford to our young people today.

The next generation faces unprecedented dangers.
The Britain we are leaving to our children is less safe, less prosperous, and further removed from basic moral principles than the country we inherited from our parents.
Indeed, there are so many dangers ahead, that I tremble when I think what my grandchildren will face.
We must do all we can to prepare them to face what is coming.
They will have to make their way in a world which is growing ever more hostile to basic moral values.
And now a new evil threatens to be enshrined in law.
Kim Leadbeater’s Assisted Dying Bill would make it legal to help terminally ill people die prematurely.
This is the first step towards the horrors that are being perpetrated in other countries, like killing people suffering depression, as in the Netherlands, or killing of children, as in Belgium.
It’s crucial that our young people hear testimony from someone with first-hand experience of what living under Assisted Dying is really like.
That’s why the keynote speaker at February’s conference will be Alex Schadenberg, a leader of the Canadian anti-euthanasia movement, and a world authority on the issue.
In Canada thousands of people lose their lives to assisted suicide every year – with over 15,000 dead in 2023. Even veterans suffering from PTSD have been recommended for Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) in Canada.
We must defeat the Leadbeater Bill in April to stop our country descending into this living nightmare.
This year’s conference must unleash the energy of our youth to help win today’s battle and create a culture that will forever resist euthanasia in Britain.
Please support SPUC’s work today and help us change the course of history.

The day will come when our children and grandchildren will have to face the evils of the modern world alone.
But we can prepare them for their future battles.
Will you give a gift TODAY to help the next generation TOMORROW?

The truth is, if everybody reading this email gave £20 right now, we would make our goal overnight.
Gifts of £50 or £100 would mean that we could do even more to prepare our young people for the future. And gifts of £500, £1000 or £2000, help us to plan even more securely for the struggles ahead.
But the most important gift is the one given to our young people with love.
Will you able to give whatever you can afford today?

Whatever you can give will help us to prepare young people to defend life and truth in a world that desperately needs their idealism and courage.
I simply wish to say, on behalf of the young men and women whose lives you are going to change:
Thank you!
Yours in gratitude,
John Deighan
Chief Executive
