Kia ora John,
My names Teisa and I head up Labour’s Field Programme, known as the Community Action Network.
Labour’s Community Action Network is all about recruiting, training and mobilising Labour volunteers to connect with voters through one-on-one conversations in their communities - on the phones and at people's doorsteps.
But, because of COVID-19, over the last few months, our Community Action Network had a new mission - letting people know they weren’t alone during this uncertain time.
During Levels Four and Three, we suspended all our campaigning and instead put our energy into helping our communities through the pandemic.
Our dedicated Labour volunteers made over 81,000 calls, checking in on the welfare of people in their local communities - making sure they had up to date information about where they could access support and also just having a good chat so that people didn’t feel alone during the lockdown.
It was amazing to see the power of our movement as it came together to support those that needed it during this time, and just goes to show what can be achieved when we work together to turn our Labour values into action.
Although it will still be a while before volunteers can get out door knocking or hold events, we’re working on digital organising options so that everyone can safely volunteer for Labour and continue to campaign together to re-elect Jacinda Ardern and the Labour team.
If you’d like to learn more about how you can volunteer, check out the link below and a Field Organiser near you will be in touch with more information- and don’t worry, you’re not committing to anything just yet! <[link removed]> <[link removed]>

I look forward to being in touch with more updates about our Field Programme.

Teisa Unga
Labour’s Field Director
