ICE begins immigration raids across Texas, dozens arrested
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on Sunday began targeted enforcement operations across Texas, following through on the MAGA cult leader's campaign pledge to crack down swiftly on people who may be in the country without legal status. ICE agents arrested 84 individuals in several cities, including Dallas, Irving, Arlington, Fort Worth, Garland, and Collin County, according to an ICE spokesperson. Those arrested were taken to ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations field office in Dallas for processing.

A school district in Texas is investigating after posts were allegedly made by a Fort Worth substitute teacher inviting US Immigration and Customs Enforcement to a local high school to round up Spanish-speaking minors. NüTwitter user @Hookem232 responded to an ICE tweet on Thursday telling agents to go to Fort Worth’s Northside High School: "I have many students who don't even speak English and they are in 10th-11th grade," the account posted. We can't wait to see what sweet gig this guy lands in the MAGAverse after he loses his teaching job.

Trump’s Palestinian refugee idea falls flat with Arab allies and raises eyebrows back home

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Saturday, Trump belched, "We just clean out that whole thing." That thing being millions of Gazans whose entire neighborhoods and livelihoods have been destroyed over the past 16 months, mind you. Officials in Jordan and Egypt predictably pushed back against the highly impractical and ruthless plan, while Trump's allies in DC tried to make sense of his newest plan. Egypt and Jordan have made peace with Israel but support the creation of a Palestinian state in the occupied West Bank, Gaza, and east Jerusalem, territories that Israel captured in the 1967 Mideast War. They fear that the permanent displacement of Gaza’s population could make that impossible.

At least one more person who was convicted in connection with the 2021 US Capitol attack carried out by Donald Trump supporters has rejected a pardon from the MAGA cult leader, saying he believed his actions "weren't pardonable." The US tech industry's quest to monopolize AI developments hit a huge snag this weekend when the Chinese artificial intelligence company, DeepSeek, released their open-source models to the public. Their biggest creation was a ChatGPT-like AI model called R1, which does everything that Chat GPT does...but it operates at a fraction of the cost of OpenAI, Google or Meta’s AI models. The company said it had spent just $5.6 million training its newest AI model, compared with the hundreds of millions or billions of dollars US companies spend on their AI technologies. America's tech industry might have to look elsewhere for their golden goose.
