JD Vance Defends Trump’s Immigration Policy in Skirmish With CBS News
Post Millennial: Vice President JD Vance sat down for his first interview since taking office, where he defended various Trump policies, including immigration crackdowns, to CBS’s antagonistic journalist Margaret Brennan. On immigration, Vance challenged Brennan’s statement that immigrants entering the United States are “properly vetted,” specifically referring to Afghan refugees who will no longer be allowed to enter the US as refugees (Post Millennial). Colombian President Gustavo Petro prevented two U.S. military aircraft full of their citizens from landing in the country on Sunday amid a mass deportation effort of those who entered illegally (Daily Mail). New York Post: Petro not only acquiesced to Trump’s demands, he even offered up the official Colombian presidential plane to help shuttle migrants back to the country, calling it a response to “the Government’s commitment to guarantee decent conditions…” The first round of deportations under Trump have targeted migrants with criminal records and deportation orders. Trump started his first term with a net negative approval rating at -3 points, Enten said, but Trump now stands at a +6 net approval rating, up nine points from January 2017 (Fox News). Former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol Charged With Insurrection
CNN: South Korean prosecutors have indicted the suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol on insurrection charges over his brief declaration of martial law. Yoon attempted to impose martial law in early December, a move that plunged the country into political turmoil and for many brought back painful memories of the country’s authoritarian past. The president justified the declaration by accusing the main opposition party of sympathizing with North Korea and of anti-state activities but it was swiftly overturned by parliament. Yoon – who denies wrongdoing – was then voted to be impeached by parliament and has been in custody since being arrested last week. Prosecutors announced the charges on Sunday evening local time, making Yoon the first sitting president in the country’s history to be indicted (CNN). Washington Post: Yoon said he intended the decree to serve merely as a “warning” to opposition lawmakers and to break through political gridlock, and he expected them to overturn his decision immediately. But testimonies from government officials in the following weeks showed that Yoon intended to use martial law to target political opponents and pursue baseless election fraud claims, and that he ordered troops to block lawmakers from overturning his decree — a much more extensive agenda than he has claimed (Washington Post).

Trump Delivers Weapons to Israel That Biden Withheld
Axios: The Trump White House instructed the Pentagon to release the hold imposed by the Biden administration on the supply of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel. President Biden’s decision to halt the delivery of one shipment of 2,000-pound bombs last May triggered one of the biggest crises the U.S-Israel relationship has faced during the 15-month war in Gaza… The officials said that 1,800 MK-84 bombs, which were held in storage in the U.S., will be put on a ship and delivered to Israel in the coming days (Axios). Daily Wire: The announcement came in a memo that was signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio that laid out how the U.S. government was going to reassess foreign aid over the next 90 days. The memo ordered all U.S. employees working on foreign aid to immediately stop “designating new funding and taking applications, and to issue ‘stop-work’ orders to groups that have received grants” (Daily Wire).

Charlie Kirk: This is big. Target is based in Minneapolis. They were the ones loudly spouting BLM rhetoric as their stores were looted in 2020. The vibe has shifted, big time (X).
