Dear Ward 8 Residents,

The District has reached 13 days of sustained decrease in community spread of COVID-19. Due to the number of infections going down we are approaching our city's phased reopening.

Tomorrow, Mayor Muriel Bowser will provide updates on Phase 1 of reopening. Barring any spikes in coronavirus cases, DC could begin a phased reopening as early as Friday, May 29th. I encourage residents to continue to follow the guidelines put in place by the District government to do all they can do to mitigate the spread of the novel virus.

As our city phases into reopening, we have to think about the effect this pandemic has on the District's economic health. Tomorrow, May 27th, I am asking all Ward 8 residents to participate in my FY21 Virtual Budget Townhall. Residents are encouraged to offer feedback on their budget priorities and what is the most important budget issue facing residents in Ward 8. All residents should register to attend or prepare to watch the townhall live on Facebook. I am proud to serve the residents of Ward 8, continue to be safe.

Regards,

Trayon White, Sr.
