Email from Rep. Gonzales I Stand with our Law Enforcement This week, 7 San Antonio police officers were injured in Stone Oak. Thankfully, 6 have been released from the hospital and the seventh is expected to recover fully. My prayers are with the entire San Antonio Police Department and the loved ones of the officers who were senselessly injured at the hands of an evil individual. This violent act was beyond preventable—the perpetrator was a violent offender and was released on bail. Soft-on-crime policies will not fly in our city—accountability is coming. On the Ground at the Border 1,500 troops are being deployed across the southern border, while deportation flights resume under the new Trump administration. El Paso is ground zero for these operations. I stopped by Fort Bliss for a firsthand look and met with base leadership yesterday. It's all hands on deck to make America safe again. I also met with Border Patrol agents. We’re all in—law and order is finally being restored at our border. Making America Safe Again President Trump is taking much-needed steps to restore law and order through executive action. Declaring drug cartels as terrorist organizations, resuming the Remain in Mexico policy, and ending catch-and-release are priorities I have long fought for since I arrived in Congress. Brighter days are ahead for our nation, the days of lawlessness in our country are over. Laken Riley Act Becomes Law Last year, Laken Riley was murdered by a barbarian who NEVER should have been in our country. We must make sure this doesn’t happen again. That’s why I was proud to support the Laken Riley Act to deport criminal illegal aliens—and I’m glad to see this legislation head to the President’s desk to be signed into law.
