I wanted to send you a quick update on my work to allow Members of Congress to vote remotely after the birth of a child.
Speaker Mike Johnson opposes my bipartisan proposal, saying proxy voting for new parents is unconstitutional — despite the fact that he himself voted by proxy in the past.
My friend Jim McGovern has the receipts:

You read that right. Speaker Johnson doesn’t want to allow proxy voting so new parents can represent their constituents and care for their newborn children at the same time — but he’s voted by proxy nearly 40 times throughout his career!
This hypocrisy is astounding, but I can’t say it’s a surprise. This is exactly why we need more people in Congress who understand the struggles that Colorado families face.
But I never back down from a fight and opposition from Speaker Johnson. He won’t stop me from working to improve Congress and make it more accessible to young parents. We need to show Washington that there is massive support for prioritizing the needs of regular families.
Will you help me do that by making a donation to support my work today? It’s no secret that children and young parents deserve a heck of a lot more support than they’re getting right now from the GOP, and I need your voice to prove that to Mike Johnson.
