Hi team, Susie Lee here.

As a career education advocate and mom of two, I have no shortage of experience helping students prepare for big exams.

There’s perhaps no bigger or more important test than how we handle the first year of the Trump administration. So today, I’d like to share some advice that — whether you’re preparing for the SAT or trying to save democracy — could make all the difference.

(Studying may be free, but keeping our supporters engaged and informed comes at a cost. Would you consider chipping in $10 or $15 — whatever you can — right now?) [[link removed]]

Tip #1: Start today.
Americans are exhausted. The last election was a challenging, painful experience, with enough major news stories to make our heads spin.

But ignoring politics until the next Election Day isn’t an option.

Over these next few months, Trump and his cronies will take advantage of the fact that folks are disengaged and try to cram the most heinous, unpopular elements of his agenda through Congress.

That’s why our efforts to take back the House Majority and put a much-needed check on Trump have already started. From sharing our message district-wide to expanding our grassroots network, building a winning midterm campaign takes time. We’ve got to make every day count.

Tip #2: Find your motivation.
Trump’s favorite technique is to unleash a firehose of hate and vitriol anytime he wants to distract from his crimes and missteps. And time after time, it works.

It's tempting to get dragged down into the mud with him, but we can’t let ourselves lose sight of what matters. We need to remember our why.

Do you want a better future for working families? Education opportunities? Equality for all? Are you passionate about healthcare, choice, climate change, gun reform, or worker’s rights?

Do you care most about protecting our democracy, standing up for what’s right, or building a better world for the generations after us?

Your reasons for being a part of this movement are too important to throw in the towel.

Tip #3: Know your strengths.
Maybe you’re highly organized, love meeting new people, or are a quick learner. Whatever your unique strengths are, you make our coalition stronger.

In times like these, there are countless ways to make an impact: signing up to volunteer, talking to friends and neighbors, debunking misinformation, attending a protest, or making a contribution to a campaign you care about.

Friend, I’m so grateful you’re here, doing what you can, when you can, to save our democracy. The next 12 months will be the greatest test we’ve ever faced. If you’re able, will you pitch in $10 or $15 right now to support our campaign and restore a responsible majority to Congress? [[link removed]]
