President Trump, Mitch McConnell, and their friends in the media want the American people to believe in a false choice. They want the American people to think that patriots must make a decision between investigating potential criminal behavior on the part of President Trump and his associates, and making progress on the issues that improve the lives of working men and women.

Nothing could be further from the truth. You can help me keep the light of truth on this scheme.

Since gaining control of the House of Representatives, Democrats have been hard at work. We've passed a bill to protect and expand access to the ballot box in the face of a new wave of voter suppression. We've passed a bill to protect those with pre-existing conditions, even as the Trump administration argues in court that hard-earned health care protections should be thrown out entirely - without a replacement. We've passed a bill to strengthen background checks on firearms purchases. And we voted to restore funding critical to improving water quality.

We continue to work on common-sense legislation that the American people strongly support. But, we wait for Mitch McConnell to join us as we look for bipartisan common sense solutions.

When Republicans aren't stonewalling needed legislation, they’re stonewalling legitimate oversight into Russian hacking and election interference in the 2016 presidential election. President Trump welcomed help from shady individuals with deep Russian connections. We now have Special Counsel Mueller's report detailing the president's sustained, extensive attempts to derail investigation into that interference.

We must protect the rule of law in this country - no one should be above the law. A full congressional inquiry into the president and his corrupt friends is of the utmost importance.
