John -- you’ve probably heard the boiled frog analogy, right? After Trump first took office, talking heads and people on Twitter loved to mention the famous experiment where if you try to throw a frog into a pot of boiling water, it will jump right out, but if you put one in a pot of cold water and very slowly bring the temperature to a boil, the frog won’t notice and end up getting cooked!
The analogy being that if we simply sat back and let Trump attack our various democratic institutions with greater and greater ferocity without fighting back, we would simply grow to accept them and end up with our democracy like the poor frog in the experiment -- totally and thoroughly cooked .
Well, shockingly, all of the warnings from talking heads and well-intentioned tweets didn’t stop Trump. He has continued to ramp up his anti-democracy rhetoric over the years, unleashing his boiling rage and is challenging states that want to expand vote-by-mail. [[link removed]]
Just this morning, he continued to turn up the heat of his attacks claiming that “There is NO WAY (ZERO!) that Mail-In Ballots will be anything less than substantially fraudulent… This will be a Rigged Election. No way!” Which follows an entire week of threats against states like Michigan and Nevada for their use of vote-by-mail to safely hold elections during the pandemic.
We are not sitting idly by, like a frog in a pot of water. Vote From Home 2020 is standing up to Trump and we plan to throw cold water on his plans to suppress voters in 2020. This is the final week of the month, and we must hit our fundraising goal to stay on track and fight back against Trump. [[link removed]]

States like Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Colorado continually have some of the highest rates of turnout and the lowest incidences of alleged voter fraud according to the Voting Rights Project. And, surprise surprise, they all run their elections primarily using vote-by-mail.
Trump’s attacks on vote-by-mail are ultimately just a lot of hot air, but if we don’t push back on them, he could still end up disenfranchising thousands of our most vulnerable voters. That’s why Vote From Home 2020 is going to directly send those voters applications to sign up for absentee ballots with the return postage pre-paid, and then follow up on those applications with calls and texts. But we can’t do that unless we stay on track with our fundraising, and that’s why we’re asking you to step up, today. [[link removed]]
We must take these attacks seriously because if we don’t, we’re all going to wind up cooked in the fall. It’s up to us to act now and jump out of this water before it’s too late.
Thank you for all you do with us and to support us!
Thank you,
Ben Tyson
