Governor Kotek recently addressed state leaders, outlining her priorities for the upcoming year. Governor Kotek prepares Oregon for impacts expected from the Trump administration. The Governor has increased the state’s stockpile of the abortion drug mifepristone, and her new budget includes millions of dollars for reproductive health, climate change, federal lawsuits, and support for immigrant communities. Governor Kotek gets praise for her work on housing! While the Governor was in Bend to meet with leaders from around the Western U.S., she spoke about her goal of building more affordable housing. Praise came from a spokesperson for a major home building company, who said the Governor's reforms are making it easier to build more housing and reduce construction costs.

Oregon will receive FEMA funding to help repair or replace facilities damaged by last year’s wildfires.
Governor Kotek wrote to the Biden-Harris administration last October urging a federal major disaster declaration and requesting additional federal resources for six Oregon counties.
