Team,

I just got an update I can barely believe: We’re closing in on 1 million grassroots donations to this campaign.

That’s an incredible achievement for any campaign, but for one that’s still over five months out from Election Day, it’s practically unheard of. If anyone out there still doubts our ability to compete in this election, 1 million grassroots donations is a statistic that’s hard to ignore.

It’ll be a stretch, but I think we can reach this milestone before our FEC fundraising deadline next week. &t=1009

Take a step back for a minute, and think about what this show of strength means to an underdog campaign like ours. To me, every single donation is an act of hope—someone believed enough in what we’re building to chip in a little of their own money to help.

When that happens nearly a million times, you know something incredible is happening. And it should alarm the other side.

In his 35 years as a senator, Mitch McConnell has never had anyone go toe to toe with him in fundraising. That’s in large part due to the fact that he has a network of special interest groups looking out for him. (And of course, he’s looking out for them, too.)

But thanks to this team, the dynamics of this race have changed. We’re proving every day that we can make 2020 Mitch’s final year in the Senate.

I’m personally going to be making calls to say thanks to some of the folks who chip in before our FEC fundraising deadline—including the person who makes that momentous one-millionth donation. If you’re able to, please chip in, and let’s make some history together:

You all astound me, every single day. Thank you,
