Hello,
We are taking a little bit of a risk in our campaign to Ditch Mitch: Tomorrow, we are starting a multi-million dollar summer ad campaign against Mitch McConnell in Kentucky – even though we don’t quite yet actually have the budget to fully fund it.
Here’s why: Since we can no longer campaign door-to-door, advertising to Kentucky voters on TV, radio, and the internet has now become a critical piece of our strategy to defeat Mitch McConnell. And with a new Super PAC controlled by McConnell putting nearly $11 million behind TV ads to attack Democrat Amy McGrath, we simply cannot afford to wait any longer to respond.
So we're doing what must be done. We're starting to run ads holding McConnell accountable anyway, and we're trusting that grassroots donors like you will step up and come through to fill our budget gap.
We’ve set a goal of raising another $100,000 before midnight tomorrow to make up our budget shortfall, keep our ads on the air, and help Amy McGrath send McConnell packing, but we need grassroots donors like you to give now if we’re going to hit it:
The GOP is panicking. They shouldn't need to spend $11 million in a state Trump won by 30 points.
But McConnell is the most unpopular senator in the entire country, and his wealthy donors are terrified that Democrats could defeat Mitch and the GOP could lose their Senate majority. And with recent polling showing Kentucky's Senate race in a dead heat, they should be worried.
But this is how, again and again, Mitch has been able to win. Democrats get a little bit of momentum, and then special interest money from the NRA, Big Oil, and Big Pharma pours in and drowns us out.
If we don't keep our new ads on the air, Mitch will once again lie and attack his way to reelection. That's why we need to raise another $100,000 before midnight tomorrow to pay for these ads – but right now, we’re still coming up short.
Thank you so much for everything you do. Together, we will send McConnell packing – once and for all.
