Hi there Team, among all the disastrous things Trump has already done in his first week as President, some may have missed his new policies on the environment.

Make no mistake: Trump and the Republican party are hell-bent on accelerating the climate crisis.

Their goal is to make their donors from Big Oil as rich as possible at the expense of our communities and our planet. Just look at the executive orders Trump has signed:

• Withdraw the US from the Paris climate agreement, which is meant to keep countries around the world on track to fully tackle carbon emissions.


• Open up protected lands in Alaska to oil and gas drilling, mining and logging, and roll back regulations on fossil fuel extraction on federal lands.


• Revoke incentives put in place by the Biden administration that encourage electric car development and use.


• Halt all new offshore wind energy projects in the US — a crucial source of clean energy.


• Declare a “national energy emergency” that urges federal use of eminent domain and the Defense Production Act to increase dirty fossil fuel extraction.

Friend, we are in the midst of a climate emergency, with each year breaking new records for high heat and intense natural disasters.

These executive orders prove, once again, that Republicans have no care for our future and the future of this planet. They only care about helping their billionaire buddies get ahead now, and making us pay the price later.

I’m not abandoning our movement for urgent climate action and a livable future because I know we have no choice but to keep up the fight. These executive orders may be a big step back, but we have an obligation to rally support for a better, cleaner way forward across this country and put climate action back on the agenda.
