Right now, I'm the last remaining Democratic incumbent in California representing a tossup district. I'm also the only House Democrat in the entire country facing a cash on hand deficit against their Republican challenger.

Part of the reason why CA-21 is so competitive is because we only recently unseated my opponent David Valadao -- he still has access to special interest cash through his top allies Devin Nunes and Kevin McCarthy. I'm rejecting that same corporate PAC cash. Instead, I depend on support from individual donors like you, friend.

I view grassroots support as my biggest strength, but the Republicans consider it a vulnerability. That's why CA-21 is quickly becoming ground zero in the Republicans effort to retake their lost seats in California.

The truth is, David Valadao and the Republicans are banking on apathy and low voter turnout in order to retake this seat. They're hoping that Democratic enthusiasm in 2018 was a fluke.

We've proven we have what it takes to organize this community and win. But if we're going to hold this seat, we need to send a message that our campaign has the resources and support to do it once again.
