[link removed] [[link removed]] For a long time, big money special interests have worked behind the scenes to influence lawmakers in Congress. That’s certainly no secret.
That’s why, when I was elected to Congress, one of my top priorities was restoring Kansans’ trust in our government. In fact, I co-sponsored a bill that would shine a light on dark money in politics, break special interests’ stranglehold on Congress, and close loopholes for lobbyists.
But today, under the current GOP leadership, these wealthy special interests are once again steering the priorities of Congress — and this time, they’re not even trying to hide it.
“GOP lawmakers waste little time trying to write Elon Musk’s priorities into law” - San Francisco Chronicle
Let’s be clear: Unelected billionaires should play no part in how Congress operates. But Mike Johnson disagrees. He wants to allow Elon Musk and his ultra-wealthy friends to give themselves massive tax cuts — all while proposing devastating cuts to Medicare and Medicaid that will drive up the cost of living for seniors and working families.
In the months and years ahead, I’m going to fight back against these special-interest giveaways with everything I’ve got — but I need this team by my side.
If you agree that unelected billionaires don’t belong in Washington, will you chip in a donation to help me fight for working families? Unlike the extremists in Congress, I don’t take marching orders from wealthy special interests, and they’re not the ones powering this campaign either. This is a grassroots-powered operation, which is why your support is so, so important.
