We Need Time In Nature—Now More Than Ever

It has been a difficult week for democracy. In just a few short days, the new administration has begun its attack on our precious natural resources and public lands. Sierra Club’s grassroots movement mobilizes to fight these attacks with all we have, but even in the midst of our fight we must also make time for rest and revitalization. Nature invigorates, inspires, and heals, and we believe that the power of communing in the outdoors will be especially necessary in the coming years.

With over 250+ itineraries in North America and around the world, Sierra Club Outings has countless opportunities for restoration in 2025. Head into the backcountry on a

Trip Discounts for Professional Photographers

We are excited to announce our new discount program for professional photographers and videographers! In order to better share our program with the world, we are always in need of high quality photos and videos from our trips. As such, we are accepting applications from professional photographers to book your choice of trip at a discounted rate in exchange for capturing some content along the way. Please help us get the word out and share this opportunity with anyone you know who may fit the bill!

P.S. While we love landscape and wildlife photography, we especially want to see trip participants in action, so applicants must have experience with photographing people.

Leader Feature: Vickie GrieshopEver wonder who is behind the 250+ incredible trips Sierra Club Outings leads each year? We are excited to introduce you to the passionate folks who are the backbone of our program. This month, please meet Vickie Grieshop!

Vickie Grieshop is a newer leader (started leading in 2022) and is one of the celebrated young adults who are the future of our program. She was inspired to join the leadership team after her first Outings trip in 2019, where she fell in love with the camaraderie of Sierra Club trips; sharing the responsibilities of cooking and cleaning, for example.

Leading our trips certainly isn’t easy - there are often challenges to overcome but also unbelievable rewards. Vickie also experienced one of those rewards when she had the incredibly rare experience of seeing the Northern Lights from the Grand Canyon on a 20s & 30s trip last summer.

One thing Vickie appreciates about the Sierra Club Outings program is our focus on conservation. She loves that our trips are run by this passionate community of volunteers who want to share their love for nature and travel with others.

Thank you, Vickie, for your service with Sierra Club Outings!
