As the only elected statewide Democrat (and most popular btw), I want to share why Iowa needs more Democrats like me. But before I jump in, the Iowa Democratic Party has a critical End-of-Month fundraising deadline in just six days. Will you chip in five bucks ASAP to help them hit their goal?

I decided to run for State Auditor back in 2018 because I was tired of powerful government insiders getting away with waste, fraud, and abuse. Voters deserve to know what their taxpayer dollars are funding, and it shouldn’t be lining corrupt politicians' pockets.

But the fight for transparency hasn’t been easy. Last year, the Republican legislature passed the most pro-corruption bill in Iowa history allowing state agencies to override my job, denying the will of the voters who elected me, and leaving taxpayers in the dark.

Iowa’s Republican leadership has made it clear that transparency and accountability are not their top priorities. We need elected officials who value honesty, and are willing to put Iowa families above partisanship.

It’s simple, really: I need more allies at the state level and the Iowa Democratic Party has laid out a plan to make that happen. But IDP needs resources to execute their plan, which is why I’m personally asking: Will you chip in $5 or more today to help give them a boost before their End-of-Month deadline?

As an auditor, I’m pretty good with numbers, so believe me when I say small grassroots donations add up to make a difference.
