John,
Yesterday was the national March for Life in Washington, D.C.!
I had the privilege of addressing tens of thousands of pro-life warriors alongside Governor DeSantis and Vice President JD Vance.
The March for Life started in January 1974, which marked 1-year of Roe v. Wade. Realizing Roe was not going to end easily, pro-life activist Nellie Gray initiated an annual March for Life with the dedication to continue until Roe was overturned.
49 years later, in June 2022, Roe v. Wade was finally overturned.
However, tragically, the abortion mindset has taken root in American culture during those 49 years. And instead of banning abortion completely, the Dobbs v. Jackson decision that overturned Roe merely placed abortion legislation into the hands of each state.
This failure to federally ban abortion ended up fanning pro-abortion flames. Abortion activists have doubled down; the abortion pill is easier than ever to access… Over 2,800 preborn babies are killed daily as a result.
This is why we still march each year in January.
The fight for our children—for our future—is the defining cause of our day.
Abortion is the number one evil in the world today. Abortion is demonic. Abortion is the leading cause of death—killing more human beings daily in America than any other cause of death—cancer, heart disease, car accidents…
And the victims are all children.
One million children every year, in the wealthiest nation in the world, are killed by abortion.
We march because our preborn brothers and sisters don’t have a voice. You are their voice. We are their voices. When we lift our voices on their behalf, we have the power to change minds and save lives.
On Thursday, I participated in a debate with a pro-abortion law professor at Georgetown University. After that debate had ended, I wondered about what kind of impact my words had made on the students in attendance.
I found myself asking the same question you may have asked yourself as you’ve shared the pro-life message in your community: Did I make a difference?
The answer to my question came just hours later when I received a text. One of the pro-abortion students who had been in attendance had changed her mind. She is now convinced of the humanity of preborn children!
This is the power of prayerfully speaking the truth in love. And it wasn’t the only piece of good news we received…
The same day, President Trump officially pardoned the 23 pro-life activists who were wrongly imprisoned under the Biden administration. Justice has won!!
Let us allow this victory to inspire us to keep urging the Trump administration to enact even more much-needed pro-life change.
Particularly, here are two additional actions I hope and pray our new presidential administration will swiftly take:
Defund Planned Parenthood
Instruct the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to ensure Planned Parenthood is stripped of all federal funding by issuing guidance that will block Medicaid and Title X funds from going to abortion providers.
Curtail the Deadly Abortion Pill
Direct the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to revoke the approval of the abortion pill and enforce restrictions on its distribution. Rescind the Biden administration’s 2021 and 2023 updates to mifepristone’s Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS), which allowed mail-order distribution and removed in-person dispensing requirements.
Ultimately, we want to see our leaders truly do the right thing and abolish abortion at the federal level. Be assured, our leaders listen when we relentlessly call on them to use their power to protect the weak. Our voices and actions DO make a difference, so keep on speaking every chance you get.
John, whether you were at the March for Life yesterday, watching from afar, praying, or getting involved in any other way: Thank you for your activism on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves.
The future depends on what we do—and who we save—today.
For Life,
Lila Rose
