For all our sakes, we wish him the best of luck. We hope he will rise to the occasion. But we are not counting on it.

Trump put up the most unqualified, unprepared nominee for Secretary of Defense in the history of the office. He did it because he wants someone of like-mind who will bend to his will — not because he’s a Veteran, not because he’s an outsider, not because he will shake things up.

He’s a “Yes Man” at a time when the United States faces the most complex threat environment in generations, and as our democracy itself is on the brink. Nearly every single Republican in the United States Senate gave their approval.
