Weekend Reading

Hi Friend,

Thank you to the thousands of people who contacted Congress to oppose the Trump administration's plans for mass deportations this week! Immigrants are a vital part of who we are as a community—friends, family members, neighbors, and leaders. Together, we make our communities stronger. As a Quaker organization, AFSC believes everyone should be treated with respect and human dignity. If you haven’t already, please help us urge lawmakers to uphold our values. Tell Congress to stop deportations today! [link removed]

By Joyce Ajlouny

The New York Times told us that we couldn’t use the word “genocide” in a paid ad intended to run last month. We feel a moral obligation to call a genocide by its name. So we walked away. Read more in The Nation. [link removed]
