Fellow Conservative,

The fight continues to get President Trump’s Cabinet confirmed. As of this writing only three members of the President's cabinet have been confirmed: Sen. Marco Rubio as Secretary of State and former Rep. John Ratcliffe as Director of the CIA. While we are happy to see confirmations, this pace is far too slow.
First Things First
President George W. Bush had 7 nominees confirmed <[link removed]> on Inauguration Day and President Barack Obama had 6. Bush’s entire first Cabinet was approved by February 1st and Obama had 11 approvals by February 2nd. Yet Trump still lingers at 3)

The Senate must pick up the pace and get President Trump’s Cabinet approved.

Here is how you can help
Currently, one of the bigger fights happening in the Senate is over the confirmation of former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence. She would challenge the conventional, establishment thinking that has led to disastrous results and the swamp fears that.
She is scheduled for a hearing before the Intelligence Committee <[link removed]> on Thursday, January 30th at 10:00 am. We need to make sure that the Committee understands she has the support of the people and that we want her independent thinking to shake things up in Washington, DC.

>>>Call Members of the Committee to let them know of your support for Gabbard:

Progress in Legislation
Defending Life

The House of Representatives passed the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (H.R. 21), which requires health care practitioners to provide life-saving care in the case of a child born alive following an attempted abortion. We appreciate Republican efforts to expose the Democrats’ abortion-on-demand agenda. This Congress is an opportunity for the majority to deliver the real results promised to pro-life Americans for more than a decade. We encourage these wins to be pursued in earnest, not sidelined for failed votes that have historically been done in place of enacting meaningful pro-life policies.

Securing the Border

Congress passed the Laken Riley Act (H.R. 29) which requires Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to issue detainers and take custody of people in the country illegally who are charged with theft-related crimes as well as detain illegal immigrants who assault law enforcement officers. President Trump is expected to sign this bill into law next week. Let’s encourage our elected officials to keep going and pass even more bills to reinforce our existing immigration laws, secure our borders, and begin deportation of illegal immigrants.
Heritage Action supported this bill <[link removed]> and it received widespread support from both Republicans and Democrats.

Protecting Girls in Sports

Last week, the House of Representatives passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act (H.R. 28) with two Democrats supporting the bill. It is now pending in the Senate where it will need 60 votes for passage.

In Case You Missed It
It’s time for DEI to DIE! President Trump’s executive orders have been coming fast and furious and have wasted no time setting the administration straight.

With just a handful of Executive Orders, Trump has begun dismantling the illegal and immoral DEI practices of discriminatory hiring based on race. “It was the policy equivalent <[link removed]> of the Romans salting the Carthaginian fields after reducing their Mediterranean city-state enemy to ruins…”
First, he rescinded the Executive Order that President Biden started his term with which ordered the promotion of racial preferences throughout his administration.

Then he signed the EO "Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing" which terminates all DEI and “environmental justice” offices and positions, followed by the "Ending Illegal
Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity" which rescinds numerous EOs including one signed by President Johnson in 1965 that has become the cornerstone for all federal efforts concerning “affirmative action” and DEI.

This is a sign of many more wins to come. But it’s also worth remembering that any executive action can be undone by a future president and our work to secure legislative victories in these same areas is crucial. I look forward to continuing to clean up Washington, DC and returning common sense to the Capitol with you.
