*New Altadena Disaster Recovery Center Opens Next Week*
On Monday, a new Disaster Recovery Center [ [link removed] ] will open in Altadena to provide essential recovery services to fire victims. The center will be open *seven days a week.*

*Returning Safely to Altadena and the Pacific Palisades*
As residents return to their neighborhoods, the Los Angeles County Departments of Public Health and Mental Health are asking fire victims to take the appropriate steps to safeguard their physical and mental health by following these safety tips [ [link removed] ] and reaching out for professional help if experiencing mental health distress [ [link removed] ].

Additionally, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has been assigned by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to survey, remove, and dispose of hazardous materials [ [link removed] ] from properties burned by the Eaton and Palisades wildfires. *This work is free to residents*.

Rain is expected Saturday, Jan. 25, though Monday, Jan. 27 in Los Angeles [ [link removed] ]. The latest forecast calls for a quarter to a half inch of rain with 10-20% chance of thunderstorms.
Ahead of the anticipated rain, Public Works is providing free sandbags to residents in areas impacted by the wildfires to help protect their property from potential flooding and debris flow. Click here to learn more [ [link removed] ].
