As a career education advocate, I know quality public schools are one of the most important investments we as a society can make.
But unfortunately, on this year’s International Day Of Education, Right-Wing Radicals on Capitol Hill are trying to destroy public education in America.
The House GOP already tried to decimate funding for education and other vital programs. Their plan proposed catastrophic 25% budget cuts, which would remove 220,000 teachers from low-income classrooms and worsen our severe teacher shortage.
Now, with Trump back in office, special interest groups are waging a war on the very institution of public education. In fact, their plan uses your tax dollars to fund religious private schools with MAGA-approved curriculum and little oversight.
This nonsense is jeopardizing our kids’ futures.
Public school educators need proper funding, resources, and support – not censorship. Will you chip in $25 to help me be a voice for quality education in Washington?
Let's be very clear: Culture wars have no place in our classrooms.
That’s why in Congress, I introduced the Keep Our Promise to America’s Children and Teachers (PACT) Act to fully fund Title I and special education, as well as an amendment to the Rebuild America’s Schools Act to address overcrowding in K-12 classrooms.
I’m going to keep fighting for a public education system that treats teachers with respect and provides students with the knowledge they need to succeed. But under this anti-education administration...I’ll need all the help I can get.
So please, will you chip in to make sure educators and students can continue to count on me as their ally in Washington?
Appreciatively,
