TakeAction Minnesota Weekly Wrap

Dear John,

It’s been a rough first week of the Trump presidency. They’re coming after so many of the communities and people we hold dear already, and we know so many people are already feeling scared and lost.

Here in Minnesota, we look after each other. So this week, we wanted to share some resources that will help you pitch in and help keep your communities and the people in them safe.

Here’s what we’re reading, watching and listening to this week. But first, a caveat.

There is a lot of misinformation out there, even well-intended misinformation. Please practice discernment and don’t share unverified information that could cause harm.

#1 - UnidosMN

Follow Unidos MN over on Instagram for updates about how you can help stand up for immigrants here in Minnesota. For a deeper dive, consider attending their Rapid Response Training, Thursday, Feb 6th, at 6:30 pm

#2 - Outfront MN

Outfront MN - an LGBTQ+ advocacy group - has created a post-inauguration community guide which tries to answer many of the questions members of the LGBTQ+ community may be asking ourselves right now.

#3 - Interrupting Criminalization

Interrupting Criminalization posted a round-up of "know your rights" resources to their instagram, with a focus on immigrant rights.

#4 - ACLU-MN

Finally, the MN chapter of the ACLU has compiled a number of “know your rights” primers, for many of the marginalized communities Trump is already targeting. Check them out, and share with friends and family.

#5 - The Mayor We Deserve

There are a number of amazing in-state orgs you can look to, and we will also continue sharing updates as they develop. For starters, if you want to work on electing a strong Minneapolis mayor and city council that will push back against Trump, we've got a training for you on Thursday, February 6th

In solidarity,
