Letter from the Mayor

Dear Washingtonians,

It's a big weekend in DC and there's a lot to be excited about: The pandas are making their public debut at the National Zoo, and for the first time in 33 years, the Commanders are headed to the NFC Championship!

Panda Celebration

If you don’t have weekend plans yet, here are some ideas:

Get a free entry pass for the Zoo on the National Zoo’s website, and then head to the Asia Trail to meet Bao Li and Qing Bao. Here’s a fun fact to take with you: the National Zoo is the only place in the country where you can visit pandas for free.

Panda Debut

On Sunday, if you are still looking for a family-friendly Commanders watch party, the Department of Parks and Recreation has you covered. Starting at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, the Deanwood Community Center will host a Commanders vs. Eagles watch party. The game will be on a big screen, the pool will be open, and DPR will supply games, food, and music. Wear your burgundy and gold and cheer on the Commanders to victory!

Commanders Watch Party

Stay warm, have fun, and Hail to the Commanders!

Sincerely,

Muriel BowserPandas
