Mueller Banner 2025
Friends and neighbors,
We are wrapping up our second week of session and I am excited to share with you what has been going on at the Capitol and in our district this week.
Session Priorities
A large part of this week was spent on introducing our first ten bills, which highlight our session priorities and largest issues. One of these bills, HF6 [ [link removed] ], outlines our education priorities as we are working on raising standards and reducing mandates in our schools. I am proud to have worked directly on the READ Act within HF6, which stands for Reading to Ensure Academic Development. Literacy rates are struggling in Minnesota, as many students read below their grade level. HF6 and the READ Act exist to help support students and teachers so that our students are performing at or above their grade level.
Committees
In my workforce committee, we requested to get an overview of the governors budget proposal that was announced last week. Unfortunately, our government agencies have been instructed by the governor not to join us in committee because the governor will not recognize that the House is organized and in session. So, we did not get the overview of the budget that we were hoping for and the Democrats have yet to show up for work at the Capitol.
Mueller Minute
In this weeks Mueller Minute, I explain the problems that mandates and policies from last session have caused in schools for students and teachers alike. This week, we heard from school leaders in my committees about their experiences recently with new mandates. Watch here [ [link removed] ] to learn more about how more flexibility would be such a gift to our school systems.

Shoutouts
This past weekend, I had the honor of being an auctioneer at the Lyle Area Cancer Auction. It was so much fun to attend and we raised $248k for cancer research in just two days. What a great turnout for a great cause, thank you to everyone who attended!
