Katie called on the Legislature to work with her to meet her ambitious goal of ending veteran homelessness in the next decade. Nobody who fought to protect our freedoms should be sleeping on the streets. To jumpstart her efforts, she proposed an initial down payment in the newly created Homes for Heroes Fund.
Arizona’s Family: Gov. Hobbs proposes plan to cut child care costs by two-thirds
Katie is taking action to lower child care costs by establishing a program where families, their employers, and the state contribute to these expenses. If the family’s employer participates in this program, the average monthly cost of their child care could drop from $1,200 to $400!

Katie met with Mexico’s foreign minister recently to discuss cross-border cooperation. Their top priorities are stopping the fentanyl epidemic, supporting law enforcement, and combatting human trafficking.

During her State of the State speech, Katie highlighted the transformative action she’s taken to protect water rights and secure Arizona’s water future. This includes signing historic water settlements with leaders from four tribal nations to provide funding for essential water infrastructure development.

Axios Phoenix: Hobbs proposes housing and child care programs in State of the State
To deliver much-needed financial relief to working families across Arizona, Katie is calling for an extension of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and the Arizona Is Home program, both of which support first-time homebuyers. Alongside that, she’s pressing for cost-cutting programs to help cover the expenses of raising a family.
