I’ve prioritized people-centered values during my first term in Congress - just as I did when I served as an Illinois State Representative. I’ve introduced legislation with bipartisan support to help student veterans, have been co-leading the Dream and Promise Act, and I co-led the introduction of legislation to create a Green New Deal for Public Housing with Rep. Ocasio Cortez & Sen. Sanders. I have championed Medicare for all, a ceasefire in Gaza, and stood up against the corrupting influence of big money in politics.
I know that fighting for our community means fighting for the issues we all care about, and I have shaped my priorities around our needs. I am clear that I was elected to serve working people, not corporate donors or special interests.
