John,

It has been less than a week since President Donald Trump was inaugurated, and since Monday, we have seen a chain of executive orders that directly impact workers and their families. These include:
  • Attacks on immigrant workers and declaring a national security crisis at the southern border.
  • Halting minimum wage increases for federal workers.
  • Weakening environmental protections that safeguard our communities.
  • Cutting protections for LGBTQIA+ individuals.
  • Making it easier to fire federal employees, undermining workplace rights and job security.
As President Liz Shuler says, "An injury to one is an injury to all." Our strength lies in knowing exactly who we are and what we stand for. As union members, we’ve never waited for permission to defend our jobs, our contracts, or our values. We lead with action, not speculation because that’s what this fight demands. The Arizona AFL-CIO will continue to fight for policies that protect workers and strengthen our communities. We know what’s at stake, and we won’t back down.
