Subject: A story about Alaska
You may not know Dr. Al Gross yet, but I'll bet you're going to hear a lot about him soon, and I'll tell you why:
Al is running for the U.S. Senate in Alaska, and he's got an amazing life story. He was born in the wake of an avalanche. He bought his first fishing boat at age 14, and he even killed a grizzly bear in self defense when it snuck up on him (this is a true story). But there's a lot more: Al worked his way through college and medical school as a commercial fisherman. He became a renowned orthopedic surgeon, then left his practice to study solutions to fixing Alaska's health care system.
Now, Dr. Gross is challenging Dan Sullivan -- the Republican incumbent who votes with President Trump 97% of the time.
I'd be thrilled if Alaskan voters sent this strong, independent-minded doctor to join me in the U.S. Senate. I know Al would be a great leader for people back home, and right now -- with the nation struggling in response to a public health crisis and a President dead-set on taking health insurance away from millions of Americans -- it is particularly important to have more doctors in the Senate. But the fact is, he needs a solid set of resources to get the word out about who he is and why he should represent Alaskans in the Senate.
Right now, so many people are facing unexpected hardships and economic uncertainties. I know that donating to political candidates isn't always possible financially.
But every donation, however small, makes a huge difference to putting leaders we can be proud of in office. So if you're able to, would you consider chipping in $15 or more directly to Dr. Al Gross's Senate campaign?
Thanks for all your efforts to flip the Senate -- it means a lot to me, and I know it means a lot to the families all around the country who would benefit from Democratic leadership.
