Assaulting a police officer is a serious crime, and it should come with serious consequences – not a Get Out of Jail Free card.

But that hasn't stopped the new administration's alarming attempts to undermine accountability by pardoning individuals who attacked law enforcement during the January 6th insurrection.

Let me be clear: I oppose these pardons in the strongest possible terms. We must hold those who commit acts of violence against our democracy accountable; it's how we keep our communities safe and maintain trust in the rule of law. Every day our police officers risk their lives to protect us, and they deserve leaders who have their backs.

I’m proud to stand with law enforcement and with everyone working to uphold justice, and we can’t let this dangerous precedent go unchecked. We need leaders in Congress who will stand up for the rule of law and ensure that no one is above it.

We simply can’t afford to let extremists set the agenda with their reckless decisions, but it's going to take each and every one of us stepping up against any attempts to further erode our democracy.

If you agree and are ready to join me in this fight, chip in $5, $10 or whatever you can to help me keep fighting to protect the rule of law and secure common sense solutions. >> [link removed]
