We did it, JOHN! We took America back—and now the real work begins. This is the conservative movement we’ve been waiting for, and it’s already in motion.Â
Â
President Trump wasted no time signing executive orders, including one to create the Department of Governmental Efficiency (DOGE), a nongovernmental task force that will take a long, hard look at federal jobs, programs, and regulations. The mission? To slash wasteful spending and get this country out from under our mountain of debt.Â
Â
You already know this is right up my alley; I’m no stranger to standing up to the D.C. sewer on the subject of reckless spending—especially when it’s completely unchecked. Look no further than the Pentagon’s bloated budget despite constant audit failures—or the fraud and duplication we see in Medicare.
Â
That’s why I’m happy to report that I’ll be joining a new congressional subcommittee aimed at eliminating government waste, working right alongside the folks over at DOGE. My friend and colleague, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene will help us lead the charge on this thing, and my hope is that we’ll finally trim $2 trillion in fat and get fiscally responsible.Â
Â
There’s a lot of waste and corruption to unpack, not to mention useless government programs that are draining our wallets. Maybe we’ll start by doing away with the Department of Education—because, let’s face it, there’s not one bureaucrat in Washington that’s taught a kid how to read or write. That money would be better spent by states.Â
Â
President Trump is all in, and so am I. Let’s make the government accountable to the people and get back to responsible spending that actually does some good for our constituents.
Â
We have a responsibility to do right by the Americans who voted us into office, and I’m confident that DOGE and this new subcommittee will help us move in the right direction.
