John —
My heart continues to break for the people of Southern California impacted by the fires.
There are no words to fully express the devastation — John, you've seen the headlines and heard the tragic stories of lives lost, families evacuated, homes burned down, and memories destroyed.
As firefighters continue to work to contain the damage, communities in Southern California still need our help.
The Red Cross of Los Angeles County has been incredibly hard at work. More than 200 American Red Cross workers, many of whom have been affected by these wildfires themselves, are helping residents of Southern California whom the wildfires have displaced. The Red Cross is providing shelter, food, and relief supplies to people affected by the California wildfires.
If you are able to, please donate directly to the Red Cross of Los Angeles County by going here to this donation page.
I’m already looking ahead to how we can ensure every person impacted is set up for success on their path to rebuilding.
I’ll be working with my colleagues across the aisle to make sure people in Southern California have the resources they need to return home safely and restart their lives with some sense of normalcy.
It won’t be easy. But our team is strong, and Californians are resilient. We must find strength in one another.
Please chip in any amount you can spare to directly support the Red Cross of Los Angeles County.
I hope you will join me in adding your support for Southern California, and keep them in your thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes.
Thank you,
Adam
