Let’s talk about Pete Hegseth, John.

Hegseth is Donald Trump’s nominee to be Secretary of Defense — and like most of his other Cabinet picks, he is totally unqualified for the job.

He’s a TV personality whose history includes sexual harassment scandals, substance abuse issues, and the mismanagement of funds for veterans. He said women shouldn’t serve in the military. Despite his track record, North Carolina’s Republican Senators are supporting his nomination.

Let me be clear about this, John: Pete Hegseth should not be in charge of our military. Period.

But our Senators’ support of his nomination is just the latest example of how they’re not concerned with looking out for North Carolinians. They’re focused on making Donald Trump proud by blindly supporting his unqualified nominees.

We need real leaders in the Senate who are willing to hold Trump accountable, stand up to extremism, and build a better future for North Carolinians — leaders who are willing to fight for North Carolina, unlike our current Senators.
