New American Leaders and Vote Mama have come together to release collaborative research [[link removed]] about the growing presence of “New American Mamas” in state legislatures!
“New American Mamas” [[link removed]] —mothers of minor children who are immigrants or first-generation Americans— bring diverse, lived experiences that are critical for shaping inclusive policies, yet they face compounded barriers as both caregivers and representatives of immigrant communities. The research seeks to better understand and support the intersectional identities of mothers and New Americans serving in government.
