Dear john,

This week, I was proud to commemorate the opening of the Akers Mill Ramp project in the Cumberland area. This new access ramp will serve 100,000 daily commuters in the metro Atlanta area. During my first year in Congress, I was proud to help secure $5 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation to complete funding for the project. To learn more about the project, click here to read a press release from my office. I spoke on the floor of the House to celebrate this week's opening--to watch my remarks, click here or on the image below.

On Thursday, I shared my own story of motherhood and the struggles I faced as I started my family. Tragically, Georgia has one of the worst rate of maternal mortality in the nation. My work in Congress to protect our families is very important to memy bill to support life-saving care for mothers and infants is now law. Click below to watch my remarks.

Screenshot of a post on X, formerly Twitter, from @RepLucyMcBath which reads: "Our state of Georgia has one of the worst rates of maternal death in the country. Now, extremists want to intimidate doctors with political games and cut off access to care that once saved my life. I fear for the safety of our families if they succeed."

We are still collecting submissions for my Valentines for Veterans program! During National Salute to Veterans Week (February 9-15), I invite you to join me in honoring Georgia veterans by sending cards to be distributed to men and women at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. The deadline for submissions is February 7th. For more information about how to participate, see the instructions below:
