Dear Friends,

It is with great sadness that the Broward Democratic Party had learned of the sudden passing of one its longtime friends and activists, Glynda Gamble-Linton Bynum.

Glynda was a wonderful human being with a great smile and a  positive attitude that touched so many of us in the community. In addition to being a party activist and precinct committeewoman in Plantation, her work as a board member and leader in various roles at the Broward County AFL-CIO, A. Philip Randolph Institute, Salvation Army, Women In Distress, youth initiatives and other advocacy groups reflected her commitment to social and economic justice that spanned across several decades.

She served as the Vice President of the National Federation of Public and Private Employees, and the executive board of the state AFL-CIO. She was a fierce advocate for youth and womens' health, especially in the area of breast cancer, of which she was also a survivor.

Glynda was an author of African American Literature, a mentor, and an overall blessing to a host of people that had the honor of being in her presence.

She was an asset to the Broward Democratic Party, as well as to  her brothers and sisters in solidarity within the labor community. To say that she will be truly missed is an understatement. May she rest in eternal peace and take comfort in the spark she ignited and nurtured in so many during her time with us.

Eternally grateful,

Broward Democratic Party
