John, I’ve received my committee assignments for the 119th Congress.

Committees are where the nitty gritty policy work gets done — where committee members work together to craft legislation that later goes to the full House for a vote.

I’m very proud that I’ll be serving on the Natural Resources Committee and the Oversight and Government Accountability Committee.

🌲 I’m proud to represent one of the most beautiful places in the country, and on the House Natural Resources Committee , I’ll fight for clean water, breathable air, and the preservation of our public lands. And with climate-fueled fires consuming homes and livelihoods in Los Angeles, I’ll push for bold, immediate action to address the climate crisis.

This committee also covers Tribal issues, and I’ll have the opportunity to defend the sovereignty and self-government of the Tribes that have stewarded these lands and waters since time immemorial.

🔎 The House Oversight Committee investigates critical issues on behalf of the American people. This powerful, storied committee has held hearings on everything from steroid use in baseball to government corruption. Recently, Republicans have abused their control of the House Oversight Committee, using taxpayer funds to spread misinformation about the Biden family, among other things. I’ll use my role on House Oversight to cut through the noise and focus on real challenges to our country, not politically-driven crusades.
