John, it’s been four days since Donald Trump took office, and in those four days, he has already dismantled and jeopardized critical governmental infrastructure, and acted against American values.
It’s been tough to watch. Trump has moved to remove us from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Paris Climate Agreement, suspended refugee programs, terminated anti-discrimination requirements for government agencies, pardoned January 6th insurrectionists, and even signed an executive order to halt birthright citizenship. I’ll be clear: these decisions put the health, safety, and rights of Americans at risk and do not represent the values our country promotes.
Instead of lowering costs for families, Trump is prioritizing policies that benefit billionaires while making it harder for working people, Veterans, immigrants, and marginalized communities to thrive. From day one, it has been clear that his promises to help Americans were empty.
As a member of Congress, I’m committed to holding Trump accountable for these dangerous policies. My priority is ensuring our government works for you and your family, not just for the wealthy few, and defending the rights guaranteed by our Constitution.
I’ve blown the whistle on Trump before, and know the risks of standing up to him firsthand. But I’ve never been one to sit back and watch injustice unfold. The fight ahead will be the toughest challenge we have faced yet, which is why I’m asking for your help:
