VIDEO OF THE DAY: Republicans move to enable third term for Trump
Capping off a week of groveling sycophants clawing their way into Trump's good graces, Rep. Andy Ogles of Tennessee has taken the cake, having just introduced an amendment to the Constitution to allow the convicted felon to run for a third term in office. It makes perfect sense when you definitely don't care about democracy or the rule of law and instead are singularly consumed with serving your morally bankrupt party's autocratic cult leader.

Trump Pentagon nominee Pete Hegseth endorsed batshit crazy, extremist Christian doctrine in hours of recent podcast recordings
Of COURSE he did. Why else are extremist, far-right Christian nationalists tirelessly going to bat for a serial philanderer and credibly accused sexual predator who promised to stop boozing if he was confirmed to lead the world's most powerful military?

Trump unleashes terrifying assault on immigrant families
United We Dream Action: On his first day in office, Donald Trump launched an all-out attack on our immigrant communities, signing an executive order to repeal birthright citizenship and began preparations for mass deportation raids in major American cities. These deportation raids will upend people’s lives, tear families apart, disrupt businesses and communities, and will forever be a black stain on our nation’s history. But United We Dream Action is fighting back to keep our communities safe — will you chip in to support their efforts to stop Trump's mass deportations?
Trump says Ukraine should have surrendered to Russia and laughably blames Zelenskyy for Putin's war
Yeah, what was Zelenskyy even thinking?! He should've totally just pledged fealty to Vladimir Putin and let hundreds of thousands of Russian troops march straight into Kiev and trample the sovereignty and rights of 37 million Ukrainian people. Sad! Wait, wasn't Donald supposed to end this war in 24 hours? What happened?

Federal judge temporarily blocks Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship
A federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s executive order redefining birthright citizenship, calling it “blatantly unconstitutional” during the first hearing in a multi-state effort challenging the order. US District Judge John Coughenour repeatedly interrupted a Trump Justice Department lawyer during arguments to ask how he could consider the order constitutional. When the attorney, Brett Shumate, said he’d like a chance to explain it in a full briefing, Coughenour told him the hearing was his chance. The temporary restraining order sought by Arizona, Illinois, Oregon and Washington was the first to get a hearing before a judge and applies nationally. Something tells us the judicial branch of our government is going to be very, very busy over the next four years.

Mississippi lawmaker introduces "Contraception Begins at Erection Act"
A new bill was introduced this week in Mississippi that would make it illegal for a man to masturbate or engage in other sexual acts when they have no “intent to fertilize an embryo.” Mississippi state Sen. Bradford Blackmon on Monday filed the "Contraception Begins at Erection Act," which would make it unlawful for “a person to discharge genetic material without the intent to fertilize an embryo,” according to NBC News. Blackmon, a Democrat, suggested in a statement to news station WLBT that the bill was inspired by the influx of right-wing legislative bills in recent years targeting women’s reproductive rights. “All across the country, especially here in Mississippi, the vast majority of bills relating to contraception and/or abortion focus on the woman’s role when men are fifty percent of the equation,” he said. The bill proposes fines ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. Look, if Republicans are going to insist that state and federal governments get to decide what women do and don't do with their vaginas, ovaries, and uteruses, it only stands to reason that penises and testicles have their, um, day in the sun, too.
House speaker's aide advised against subpoena for former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson fearing exposure of sexual texts sent to her by GOP lawmakers, report says
Speaker Johnson and the GOP's new January 6th House committee are itching to cross-examine former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson for daring to speak out against the MAGA cult leader...but they can't because doing so would expose the disgusting text messages sent to her by certain Republican lawmakers, demanding sexual favors and making vile sexual comments. Every day, we ask, "Is there no bottom to the degeneracy and the hypocrisy of Trump's GOP?" and the answer, inevitably, is a big, fat no. Certainly isn't the first time Republicans have screwed up their cockamamie investigations by stepping on their own dicks.
Wall Street Journal turns on Trump over yanked security for aides
It would seem some conservative journalists' willingness to carry the MAGA cult leader's incredibly dirty water do have their limits, as the reliably right-wing Wall Street Journal has come out swinging against Trump for his latest "new low." The WSJ's editorial division has grown increasingly critical of Donald, publishing a new opinion piece condemning his "vindictive whim" of a decision to remove security protection for John Bolton, Mike Pompeo, and Brian Hook — three former Trump officials who played direct roles in his first administration's assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad on January 3, 2020. Published Thursday, the piece spotlights the slippery slope of Trump’s decision to leave his three former advisers unprotected when they have all been credibly threatened with predictable reprisal attacks by Iran. "When you have protection, you can't have it for the rest of your life,” Trump — who will have protection for the rest of his life — told reporters on Thursday. "I mean, there’s risks to everything," he added. Indeed! Like serving an autocratic narcissist whose singular focus is himself.
ICE arrests more than 500 in raids, including US veteran in New Jersey, mayor says
Donald's great purge has apparently begun. "The largest massive deportation operation in history is well underway," the White House press secretary boasted on social media. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested more than 500 people on Thursday, including during a raid on a worksite in New Jersey that a local official called an "egregious act" that violated the Fourth Amendment. Newark Mayor Ray Baraka said ICE officials detained undocumented residents as well as citizens during a raid on a business, without producing a warrant. One of the people detained, Baraka said, was a US military veteran "who suffered the indignity of having the legitimacy of his military documentation questioned." In all, ICE claims to have arrested arrested 538 people and detained 373. It’s unclear where all of those arrests took place.
Purported writings from Nashville high school shooter show he was radicalized by right-wing MAGA commentator Candace Owens
Pages of writings from the accused shooter at Antioch High School showed a layout of the school, the weapons he wanted to use, and his thoughts about why he wanted to commit a shooting. The Metro Nashville Police Department identified the shooter as Solomon Henderson, 17. Henderson, who wrote he "was ashamed to be Black," was antisemitic in his writings and posted a flyer from the Goyim Defense League, a neo-Nazi white supremacy group that visited Nashville this summer. Henderson also said he was inspired by right-wing extremist Candace Owens, the ultra-conservative Black pundit who previously called Nashville home.

You mean NONE of these people are drag queens?
