[link removed] [[link removed]] John,As Secretary of State, one of the biggest challenges I face is the fight against election disinformation—the intentional spread of false information about our election system.
This is not just a Minnesota problem—it’s a national and global issue. Foreign adversaries and bad actors thrive on spreading lies to erode public trust in our democracy.
For many years, across presidential administrations, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been an essential partner in this fight. They’ve provided intelligence briefings to Secretaries of State, issued public warnings about disinformation campaigns, and helped safeguard our election infrastructure.
Now, that critical support is at risk.
During her confirmation hearings to lead the Department of Homeland Security, Governor Kristi Noem suggested that DHS should no longer be in the business of combatting election disinformation, calling that work “mission drift.”
Let me be clear: this isn’t just a dangerous shift in priorities—it’s a surrender to those who want to poison our democracy with lies and confusion.
If confirmed, Noem’s vision could embolden those who spread disinformation, leaving our elections more vulnerable than ever before.
John, I need your help to fight back. We need to raise $10,000 this week to ensure we have the resources to push back against this dangerous rhetoric and to continue our work combatting election disinformation. Can I count on you to chip in $10 or more today? [[link removed]]
