Don't let life-threatening conditions go unaddressed
Doctors believe that people are so scared of contracting COVID-19 that they’re not seeking help for life-threatening ailments. While stay-at-home guidance is a critical part of reducing the spread of COVID-19, aging services professionals should encourage older adults to seek medical care immediately if they have symptoms of a stroke or heart attack, or have experienced a fall and suffered a fracture, broken bone, or brain injury.

New Yorkers are experiencing COVID-19 differently
New York City has been the American city hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. Not all New Yorkers are equally at risk; age has been a serious risk factor, and nearly 75% of New Yorkers who have died from COVID-19 were 65 and over. Race and class also influence infection and mortality rates.
