US Vice President JD Vance to address March for Life later today!
In his first public appearance since his inauguration earlier this week, US Vice President JD Vance will address the annual March for Life in Washington DC, which takes place later today. His attendance sends a very strong signal that the incoming US administration is going to work closely with the pro-life movement to help rebuild a culture of life in the United States.
Yesterday, President Trump issued pardons to 23 peaceful pro-life protesters who were jailed by the Biden administration. When issuing the pardons, the President said: "They should not have been prosecuted. This is a great honour to sign this."
According to LifeNews, the Thomas More Society, a public interest law firm based in the US, had formally petitioned the new President to pardon the pro-life activists. In a statement issued before the pardons were granted, they said: “These peaceful pro-life Americans mistreated by Biden include grandparents, pastors, a Holocaust survivor, and a Catholic priest — all are selfless, sincere patriots. We respectfully urge that all of them detailed here are richly deserving of full and unconditional pardons.”
One of the very first actions taken by the new Trump-Vance administration on Monday was to close a federal government website opened by President Biden to promote abortion at taxpayers’ expense. The website ReproductiveRights.gov had gone offline within hours of Trump being installed as the 47th president.
Other pro-life decisions from the new administration expected soon include the reinstatement of the ‘Mexico City Policy’, the name given to the policy that has in the past blocked U.S. federal funding of overseas abortions, particularly in developing countries.
