I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the new Chair of the Orange County Young Republicans and to welcome our fantastic new board members who will be working together to strengthen our local community. We are excited to kick off 2025 with an engaging event, and we’d love for you to be a part of it!

We’re honored to have two amazing guest speakers for this meeting:

• Tony Strickland, Huntington Beach Council Member and candidate for California State Senate District 36 in the upcoming special election. Tony will share his vision for the state and the role young conservatives can play in shaping California’s future.
• Michael Gates, City Attorney for Huntington Beach, who will provide valuable insights into local governance and the issues facing our community.

The OCYRs are committed to building a culture of political and civic engagement, especially in this election year. OCYR Engage is our civic engagement program designed to encourage civic participation through attending public meetings and driving the public discourse through Op-eds and Letters to the Editor.

If we want to make an impact in our country, state, and community, it's critical that we understand how our civic government works and that we support the Republican movement in and out of elections.
