Dear John,
In his first sit-down interview since becoming President of the United States, Donald Trump made clear he does not stand with Californians.
When discussing aid for survivors and first-responders of the devastating wildfires in Southern California, Donald Trump said that, “I don't think we should give California anything.”
Governor Newsom hasn’t left the ground since the fires started. Countless first responders are working around the clock to get fires under control. But Donald Trump doesn’t want to give us *any* support.
Fortunately, House Democrats led by Hakeem Jeffries have stood up against putting any type of conditions or “strings” on aid for California.
Hakeem Jeffries boldly said today, “It’s a nonstarter.”
Hakeem Jeffries has more leverage than ever because we expanded our California Democratic delegation by three members in 2024. We did that by flipping seats from red to blue, and those members of Congress will now fight for us in Congress and against any attempts to obstruct aid for our people.
If you are able, will you consider making a donation so we can keep fighting for California and take back the U.S. House in 2026?
