Friend,
I’m the president of Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity &
Empowerment, an independent union of Amazon workers, and I have big news:
Workers at the Amazon packing facility outside Raleigh, NC are holding a
union election in less than a month.
Even though I helped found the union, and was elected its president by our
members, I won’t be able to vote, because Amazon fired me right before we
filed our union cards with the NLRB.
But firing me is the least of it―after the impact last month’s strikes had
on union morale, Amazon is pulling out all the stops to divide us.
Lately, that means spreading divisive, racial attacks in captive audience
meetings. It’s a new low for Amazon, which has union-busting in its DNA.
[ [link removed] ]We will not be divided. This community has been in our corner since our
union went public. Can you split a donation to help our union become the
first Amazon union in the South?

CAUSE is an independent union set up by workers at RDU1―we literally are
the union. Because we’re all workers, we’ve been bootstrapped the whole
way. Every dollar we raise goes straight back into organizing.
[ [link removed] ]CAUSE
There are thousands of workers at RDU1, and because Amazon can force
people into anti-union meetings on company time, we’re at a big
communication deficit. We have to print thousands of copies of our
newsletters in four languages, which we distribute at shift changes. We
place yard signs around the perimeter of the facility, so that workers see
our messages coming into work.
And our next big initiative is a big pre-election barbecue, with food that
can bring workers together to build solidarity and have important
conversations about our union.
None of this stuff is cheap, especially for a new independent union like
ours.

this union election and force Amazon to recognize this union?
