These uber-wealthy men spent millions of dollars to elect Trump. In return, he promised to make their wish list a reality. In the past few days, he’s been doing just that: opening up new land for leasing, ending environmental protections, and even banning their competition by stopping all wind leasing. 

In just days, they’ve already gotten a massive kickback. John, this is what oligarchy looks like. Billionaires bankroll a politician and then they get massive handouts in return. 

America has been trending in this direction for decades, but it’s never been so severe and blatant as this Trump administration. To change this, we’re going to need more than politics as usual. We need a political revolution.

That isn’t going to happen overnight, but we have a plan for the next four years:

1. Expose Trump’s corruption to millions of people. The silver lining here is that our broken political system has never been more on display. When his handouts for billionaires deliver nothing for everyday people, he’s going to be vulnerable.
2. Force the Democratic Party to put forward a better vision, starting with rejecting the influence of billionaires in the party.
3. Build a movement that is capable of pressuring and electing politicians who will actually fight for us, not just put up feckless “resistance”.

I’m feeling daunted but I’m also excited because in these last 8 years, I have seen that when we put our minds to it, we can do incredible things. But it takes all of us.
